Cambridge Flute Day

World renowned flautist Ian Clarke joined us in March for a day for flute players from grade 2 and above. Participants took part in Ian’s multi-level works Walk like this and Zig,Zag,Zoo, and worked with Ian in his creativity and technique workshops. Ian also treated us to some performances and presented an end of day concert with all the participants.
Ian Clarke Biography
Ian Clarke is acknowledged as one of the leading player/composers in the flute world. A composer, teacher and mathematician, his compositions have been performed across five continents on stages ranging from London’s South Bank to the Glastonbury Rock Festival and have been featured in the last four BBC Young Musician woodwind finals. He is an internationally sought after performer and current professor of flute at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Ian works extensively with musician/composer Simon Painter writing, producing and performing music for film & television under the name of Diva Music with numerous recordings between them and applications from Microsoft to Oprah Winfrey!
Having Ian lead this day is a great privilege and no doubt he will be an inspiration to all those who attend.

• End of day concert for family and friends at 4.30pm.
