Prime Brass History
Prime Brass is an exceptional ensemble whose concerts combine dazzling technical skill with intelligence and a playful sense of adventure. Equally respected for its performances either as a solo ensemble or with leading choirs, Prime Brass is also well known for performances at the lighter end of the musical spectrum and for its CDs, which have been played on Classic fm and BBC Radio 3. Prime Brass has been entertaining audiences since 1989 as a quintet and as a ten-piece ensemble, performing regularly at venues such as the West Road Concert Hall, King’s College Chapel and Ely Cathedral. The full ten-piece ensemble of four trumpets, four trombones, horn and tuba will perform at the Brass Day and, with a number of the players being brass teachers, participants will receive expert coaching. Prime Brass has a particular affinity for education, and the players are looking forward to sharing their enthusiasm for brass music with you..
Prime Brass currently consists of the following superb musicians:
TRUMPETS: Michel Sedgwick, Gavin Bowyer, Paul Garner, Shaun Fitzgerald
