In partnership with Cambridge Central Library the ACE foundation is running its 3rd 8 week creative writing course with author Jo Browning Wroe.

• Week 1 - Less really is more- how restraint unleashes more powerful writing.
• Week 2 - Show dont tell - how to give your reader a satisfying experience.
• Week 3 - Whats the plot? - what makes a good story.
• Week 4 - Characters and characterisation .
• Week 5 - Dialogue - a sleight of hand.
• Week 6 - Creating indoor and outdoor settings that build our characters.
• Week 7 - Great openings.
• Week 8 - Redrafting.
About the Artist
Jo Browning Wroe is a graduate of UEA’s Masters Programme in Creative Writing. She writes for educational publishers in the UK and the US and has won awards in both countries. She is also working on her own novel for adults. She has taught creative writing workshops for 8 years, working with a wide range of participants, from teenagers no longer in education, to people in retirement writing about their lives to pass on to their grandchildren. She also helps to organise Cambridge Wordfest.

Dates & Times
The creative writing course is a 8 week course designed to introduce you to creative writing. It will run every Thursday afternoons for 2 hours from 3pm to 5pm from 6 September - 25 October.
Who
Anyone with an interest in creative writing
Participants should be willing to share their writing in a supportive, positive environment
Please note that there are limited places on this course so we advice booking early to avoid disappointment.

An appropriate setting for such a course, the sessions will be run in meeting room 3 of Cambridge's central library.

The central bus stop at drummer street is approximately a 10 minute walk from the library entrance. It is also possible to walk to the library from the train station.
