We invite you to join Steve Bingham, one of the most musically diverse violinists in the world today, to experience his talent and develop your own playing skills. Together with our team of expert tutors, Steve will lead you through a number of challenging and exciting compositions. We welcome violin, viola, cello and bass players, of all ages and abilities, to a lively day of string music making.
Steve Bingham Biography
Undoubtedly one of the most musically diverse violinists in the world today, Steve Bingham is internationally renowned for his work as leader of the Bingham String Quartet and for his solo recitals on violin and electric violin. He has performed throughout the UK and also in America, China, Europe and the Middle East, including concerto performances in venues as prestigious as St. Johns’ Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. In recent years Steve has developed his interest in improvisation, electronics and world music and has recorded as a guest artist on several pop and world music CDs. His wide ranging skills should prove excellent for this course and we hope to get a diverse range of students in order to ensure full use of his talent!
Course
• Meet and play with top performer Steve Bingham.
• Play in a full string orchestra with suitable parts for all abilities.
• Orchestras for advanced, intermediate and junior.
• Playing technique sessions.
• Trade stands with Bridge Instruments & Cambridge Strings.
• Hands on electric instruments sessions.
• Play Metamorphosen by Richard Strauss (Advanced orchestra-Grade 7+).
• Play two pieces from Henry V by Walton (Intermediate orchestra-Grade 4-6).
• Junior orchestra (Grades 1-3) with Christina Everson.
• Creative and dynamic environment.
• Family and friends invited to end of course concert at 17.00.
Junior Strings
Please note that junior strings will be tutored by Christina Everson and friends, and will enjoy a day playing string music, music games, taking part in Dalcroze and Kodaly sessions, and movement and singing workshops.

Who
• All violinists, viola players, cellists and double bass players are welcome from grade 1 to diploma, school age to retirement.
• Free entry for any teacher with 3 or more students.

Sawston Village College, New Road, Sawston, CB22 3BP. Provides ample free parking and excellent rehearsal and performance spaces within their new performing arts centre
